April Day of Renewal at Kirkmont Center
You need and deserve this day.
It’s the People and Places.
Global Village, the international arm of Habitat for Humanity, provides opportunities to travel, meet people, and make meaningful contributions to mankind. Janet Miller will talk about her eight Global Village trips to countries including Portugal, Malawi, Macedonia, Poland, India, and Guatemala, with Vietnam and Thailand coming in April. Janet will share how people from diverse places and backgrounds form a cohesive team to build a home and enjoy the culture of the host country.
Get to know the Executive Director, Jim Sexstone.Jim will talk about his career and on being Executive Director of Kirkmont Center. There will be time for Q’s & A’s and conversations.
Austin T. Shell will describe his experience starting a business in the media industry. He will examine the reasons why images and stories help us realize not only who we are as individuals, but who we could be as a people. Austin is a former Kirkmont camper, member of summer staff, summer volunteer, and member of the Executive Director Search Committee. Austin has photographed people and scenes at Kirkmont. He might use images of a recent trip to SE Asia to illustrate his points.
Enjoy a locally sourced lunch.
You also may enjoy time outdoors, sleep over Tuesday night to stargaze (clear sky permitting), spend some time on a service project, order a Kirkmont sweatshirt for you, a family member, or a friend, sit on the porch all day, draw or work on an adult coloring book, write a letter, or read.
